Build the Farm First

A strong GoMining GMT foundation should come before aggressive TH expansion. Before building a larger mining operation, build the support system that can keep it alive through the harshest times.

Growth should not come first. Survival should.

Think of your GoMining portfolio as a kingdom. TH is your army: it goes into the field and produces Bitcoin. But every army needs food, supplies, and a reliable supply line.

Locked GMT is your farm.

The larger your army becomes, the larger the farm needed to sustain it.

GoMining GMT Foundation: TH Is Your Army, GMT Is Your Farm

TH is your army.

Your soldiers go out to fight, conquer territory, and generate wealth. In GoMining, TH performs that role by producing Bitcoin.

But every army needs supplies.

Locked GMT is your farmland and supply base. Its weekly rewards provide resources that can be used to support the OPEX required to keep your miners operating.

This leads to a simple rule:

The larger your army becomes, the more farmland you need to support it.

More TH means more OPEX. More OPEX means you need a stronger GMT foundation.

How a GoMining GMT Foundation Provides Two Layers of Support

Locked GMT does more than generate weekly rewards.

1. Reduce Your OPEX

GMT can provide up to a 20% discount on mining fees.

That means your army requires fewer supplies to remain in the field.

During difficult mining periods, every dollar saved gives your portfolio more resources to survive.

2. Build Weekly Income to Pay OPEX

Locked GMT also generates weekly rewards that can be used toward the remaining OPEX.

The GoMining GMT strategy therefore attacks the problem from both sides:

Reduce the supplies required. Then produce the resources needed to pay for them.

Never Expand Faster Than Your Supply Lines

It is tempting to keep buying TH because more hashrate means more BTC production.

But doubling the size of an army without increasing its food supply does not necessarily make a kingdom stronger.

It can make it more fragile.

The same applies to mining.

Expanding TH without strengthening your GMT base increases the OPEX that must be supported.

This is also why I view energy efficiency as a risk-control strategy. Lower W/TH reduces the OPEX burden that your GMT foundation needs to support.

That is why my GoMining GMT foundation puts the support base before aggressive TH expansion.

Build GMT → Reduce OPEX → Cover OPEX → Expand TH → Strengthen GMT Again

GoMining GMT Foundation: Target 100% OPEX Coverage First

My first target is simple:

Weekly GMT rewards ≥ 100% of weekly OPEX after discounts.

If your discounted fees are $100 per week, build toward enough locked GMT to generate approximately $100 per week.

The long-term objective is for the mining operation to survive even if your external income eventually disappears.

You should not have to continually rescue the miner with fresh capital or sell the BTC you are trying to accumulate just to keep it operating.

Why I Prefer 125% OPEX Coverage

I would actually aim beyond 100%.

My preferred target is:

Weekly GMT rewards ≈ 125% of weekly OPEX.

If OPEX is $100, target approximately $125 in weekly rewards.

The first $100 keeps the army supplied.

The additional $25 becomes your strategic reserve.

It can be reinvested into GMT to expand the farm further. Once the foundation is strong enough, some of that surplus can eventually support additional TH.

Because when preparing for war, you do not stock exactly enough supplies for the battle you expect.

You prepare more than enough so you can outlast the battle you did not expect.

Build Your GoMining GMT Foundation for the Harshest Times

Bitcoin prices can fall. Mining difficulty can rise. Profitability can compress. Bitcoin’s mining difficulty adjusts as the network’s total computing power changes, helping maintain the network’s target block interval. You can read more about how Bitcoin mining and difficulty work in the Bitcoin mining guide.

These are forces we cannot fully control.

What we can control is how we prepare for them.

A strong GoMining GMT strategy is therefore not simply about maximizing TH. It is about building enough support underneath that TH so the mining operation can continue through difficult conditions.

Think of the portfolio this way:

TH is your army.

Locked GMT is your farmland.

The discount reduces how many supplies your army consumes.

Weekly GMT rewards replenish those supplies.

The 125% target creates your strategic reserve.

A strong GMT foundation is also one part of the bigger picture. In my GoMining Trifecta strategy, locked GMT provides financial support, Greedy Machine provides growth, and energy efficiency provides endurance.

The objective is not simply to build the largest army.

It is to build an army you can keep in the field for the longest time.

A stronger today. A more secure tomorrow.

Build the farm first. Then expand the army.

The 100% and 125% OPEX targets are strategic frameworks, not guarantees. GMT rewards, discounts, BTC prices, mining difficulty, fees and other economic conditions can change.
