Building toward passive crypto income: my GoMining locking journey

This is the latest update on my GoMining locking journey — I just added another 2,000 GMT to my stake, locking it up for a full four years. That new chunk joins the 14,000 GMT I already had locked, bringing my total staked position to 16,000 GMT.

Today is payday

GoMining pays out APR on locked tokens every Tuesday, and today’s my day. I’m expecting around 67 GMT to land in my wallet from this week’s payout.

Here’s how the whole thing fits together: the 14,000 GMT I already had locked, plus the 2,000 GMT I just added, combine into that 16,000 GMT total — which is what’s generating this week’s 67 GMT reward.

What I’m doing with the payout

Nothing fancy — I’m using it to offset my fees. At current rates, 67 GMT covers roughly 2 out of 7 days of fees for the week.

The goal is simple: keep growing the locked stake until the weekly payout covers all seven days. That’s the point where this stops being “extra tokens I got for locking up crypto” and starts being genuinely passive income — money that shows up every week without me lifting a finger.

Right now I’m about 29% of the way there on the fee-coverage front, but the trend is in the right direction.

The bigger picture: chasing Diamond I

Staking more GMT isn’t just about the weekly payout — this GoMining locking journey also moves me up GoMining’s tier system. I’m sitting at 16,000 GMT locked, which puts me at 64% of the way to Diamond I (the threshold is 25,000 GMT). That means I’ve got another 9,000 GMT to go.

GoMining locking journey

Every bit I add brings two things closer at once: a bigger weekly payout, and a jump up in tier status.

Onward: The Next Step in My GoMining Locking Journey

Slow and steady. Lock more, earn more, offset more fees — and eventually, let the payouts run the show entirely.
