My GoMining farm strategy is currently focused on one thing: strengthening the farm before aggressively expanding hashpower.
The farm has now reached 501 TH at 14.56 W/TH, entirely on a Greedy Miner. But rather than simply buying more TH, my current priority is building a stronger financial foundation around those miners. This follows the philosophy behind my Build the Farm First strategy: strengthen the support structure before aggressively expanding hashpower.

My Current GoMining Farm Strategy
Here is where the farm stands today:
- Mining Power: 501 TH
- Energy Efficiency: 14.56 W/TH
- Miner: Greedy Miner
- Locked GMT: 35,500 GMT
- Weekly GMT Rewards: approximately 150–155 GMT
- Weekly OPEX: approximately 175 GMT
- Weekly Referral Rewards: approximately 40 GMT
The important number for me is not just the 501 TH.
It is OPEX coverage.
GoMining Farm Strategy: 85.7% OPEX Coverage Without Referrals
My locked GMT currently generates around 150 GMT per week against approximately 175 GMT of weekly OPEX.
That means locked GMT alone covers approximately:
85.7% of my mining OPEX.
Once approximately 40 GMT of weekly referral rewards are included, total recurring rewards rise to around 190–195 GMT.
That pushes my effective OPEX coverage to approximately 108%.
In other words, the farm is already capable of generating recurring rewards greater than its current operating costs when referral income is included.
However, I don’t consider the job finished.
The Next Target: 125% OPEX Coverage + 50,000 Locked GMT
My next milestone has two separate targets:
1. Reach at least 125% OPEX coverage
I don’t want to stop at 100%. A farm operating exactly at 100% coverage has very little margin for changes in mining economics.
My target is therefore 125%+, creating a larger operating buffer.
2. Reach 50,000 locked GMT
I currently have approximately 35,500 GMT locked.
The next major target is 50,000 GMT, which would also take me to Diamond II VIP and unlock additional benefits within the GoMining VIP program.
So the destination isn’t simply 125% OPEX coverage.
It is:
125%+ OPEX coverage + 50,000 locked GMT.
Why I Am Still Paying OPEX With New Funds
There is another important part of my GoMining farm strategy.
Even though GMT rewards and referral rewards can currently cover more than 100% of OPEX, I am still injecting new funds to pay operating expenses.
Why?
Because I don’t want to consume the support structure while I am still building it.
For now, the GMT rewards and referral rewards can remain part of the broader growth strategy while external capital handles the farm’s operating costs.
At the same time, I plan to add approximately 500 GMT per month to my locked position.
This gradually moves the farm toward both targets.
Why I’m Not Rushing to Add More TH
It is tempting to look at 501 TH and immediately think:
Why not 750 TH? Why not 1 PH?
Because every additional TH also brings additional OPEX.
Growing hashpower without strengthening the support structure can make the farm larger while simultaneously making it more dependent on selling mined BTC or injecting capital to survive difficult periods.
My preference is different.
First, build a highly efficient mining operation. As I explored in The Economics of Energy Efficiency, EE isn’t just about reducing today’s electricity bill—it also helps the miner remain competitive as mining conditions become harder.
Then build enough recurring income around it to support its operating costs.
Then expand.
That is why my current priority remains the foundation rather than maximum TH.
The Road Ahead
The progression is now straightforward:
35,500 GMT → 50,000 GMT
85.7% base OPEX coverage → 125%+ OPEX coverage
Once those foundations become stronger, I can reassess how aggressively I want to expand hashpower.
The objective isn’t simply to build the biggest farm I can.
It’s to build a farm that is increasingly capable of supporting itself.
This is also the logic behind my GoMining Trifecta strategy: efficient miners provide endurance, Greedy Machine builds hashpower, and locked GMT strengthens the farm’s ability to support its OPEX.
Build the farm first. Then expand the kingdom.
